We're Here!!!

Here are a few pics of our CA place... we love our little spot of our own.

Our House

The surfer girl, sports car loving persona of my college dreams has pretty much died out by now. She’s been replaced by a woman who gets a high from seeing how much savings we can accumulate in a month and who can’t sleep until she’s checked that the children are still breathing, twice. So, when we found that we were coming to CA, I really only thought it was good for the sake of its proximity to Utah.

Turns out, I really love it…

The weather is perfect, the beach is gorgeous, the people are so friendly, and the produce is awesome! (When you all come out here, we’ll take you to the glass chapel which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright’s son and is placed looking over the ocean in the middle of a little piece of forest.)

We adore our little home and neighborhood. The ward and neighbors couldn’t be better. Strangers constantly stop to admire our ‘adorable’ children (it is going to be hard to keep them humble out here!). The mailman delivers the mail right to our door. We only have to turn on our sprinklers for literally one minute each day. And did I mention that we have a gardener (came with our contract for the place… everyone has a gardener out here)? I am even thinking that Glenn and I may take surfing lessons this summer after all. We are loving it here.

Glenn adores what he does and the company and people he works for. Seriously, we just keep trying to remember the source of all our blessings because we are humbled by how happy this transition has been. We know we don’t have to ask for trials to come, they always do- but for the moment, we are loving this time to catch our breath and count our blessings (not that we shouldn’t thank the Lord for our trials too- I am working on that!).

We'll soon post some pics of our recent adventures, but it has been challenging enough to get the house pics up and running! Best to all of you- we miss you!

Wonderful to see your place! I love the progressive pictures of the boys' room that show the whole of it - very creative! The front of your house looks a lot like Mike's in Boise! I'm delighted you're so happy in sunny California - how could you not be!

We finally saw your pictures of Cali because Mindy reminded us today at Jordan's B-day party. Each time you mentioned the word "surf" I wanted to cry I was SO jealous. That is the one thing I covet more than anything...proximity to a real beach. Ugh.
