Halloween 2007

Halloween's always a fun time full of creativity and anticipation. Unless, of course, you procrastinate getting your costume together, then it hits you like a bag of doornobs. Late Tuesday night I realized that I didn't have a costume and Kristen starts talking to me about how I'll never know what she goes through to bring these kids into the world. I know that is true. I'll never truly experience the pain and agony of pregnancy, but I can sport the sympathy belly for expectant fathers! And why not combine the two - get a decent costume and show support for my wife all in one day. It turns out that the sympathy belly that we got isn't the kind that weighs 30 pounds, puts pressure on your bladder and simulates fetal movement. No, this one is roughly a pillow with a Velcro strap that wraps around your stomach. And from the front, it wasn't really recognizable that anything was even there. If someone just glanced, they might have simply thought that I had let myself go. It was a nice gesture, anyway. One day or one week, I would be very willing and interested in wearing one of those authentic sympathy bellies to get the full experience - as far as males go.

Max was pretty excited for his first real Halloween night. He was dressed up as Peter Pan with his suit that Mommy made for him. I think Kristen did and excellent job putting that costume together. Max was awesome going from door to door knocking and yelling "Trick or Treat" before the door was even open. When the door finally did open, he would walk right in totally expecting to be welcomed in. He may have not understood why he was getting dressed up in funny clothes and knocking on strangers' houses but he understood the results very well! He had a blast and it was a great time to spend with family.

Honey, you're a keeper! You may not know the pain this causes, but I know I keep you up too when I can't sleep after 2 or 4 am... It's good to know you'd still look dashing and handsome if you gained 30 lbs :).

For the rest of the world- you now have proof, at 7 mo., I am not kidding when I say these boys grow BIG. They better be some pretty fine athletes we're turning out here :). Just teasin'- we love and will take our boys however we get them... just as long as they make up for the back pain and heartburn I go through to get them here!

Hooray, you're back! You're a good sport, Glenn. That's so funny to see you with a "belly." You'll have to post a picture of Max as Peter Pan. Grandma and Grandpa told us his costume was fantastic. We want to see!!!
